Two years ago I weighed 230 pounds. Two years ago I decided that I had to make a change. Two years ago (on Memorial Day) was the beginning of a complete new lifestyle (diet / fitness).
This past winter, I was featured on the blog It Sux to be Fat as a Success Story in achieving weight loss goals. Click Here to read the story.
I am happy to report that I have still maintained that weight and have continued to uphold my lifestyle by eating better and working out daily. Generally, I feel better physically and for the first time in my life I feel good about myself. I know that I definitely had a boost of confidence getting to where I am and I don’t feel like I need to hide.
People often assume that I have been this size my entire life – at that point I pull out the pictures and tell them that is not the case and that through hard work and self discipline, I am where I am. Since I am not one of those “naturally” thin people, I know how quickly all this hard work could go the other way and I don’t want to go back to that place. It took a lot of work to get here, and it doesn’t take much time to go back – so I choose healthy – ALL THE TIME!
