Spring is finally here! The weather has been phenomenal (although it’s a bit chilly today and the rain is coming for the next 3 days). The flowers are in bloom and we can finally (comfortably) drive with the windows open.
Reading – I wish I could say I was reading something. I really do love to read, but lately whenever I sit down and pick up a book – 5 minutes passes and I’m falling asleep. I am in the middle of a little vacation this week with no obligations so I really should pick up one of the books in my stack of things to read.
Writing – More like editing and updating my resume. I am hoping to find something this summer for some part time work. It’s been since May 2008 that I’ve been employed outside the home and it’s like starting all over again. It’s strange how obsolete I feel being out of the workforce for almost 5 years.
Listening – Duran Duran is hands down one of my favorites and has definitely been on repeat this week in my playlists. I remember purchasing the Greatest hits CD back in 2004 and it’s still a favorite. Ordinary World will always always always be a favorite.
Thinking – I need to make the most of this week (organizing, shopping, relaxing and reading) while the kids are in Maryland visiting with my parents. There is a HUGE list of to-do items I have been wanting to accomplish for a while and with the kids not being here (and Tim still in school mode) I have time to myself to do “me” things…..at any time of the day.
Feeling – Content with our decision to remain in Blacksburg for another year. One of the hardest things for me this year was not having any friends yet, but I developing a nice friendship with one of my son’s classmates mother. We were going to to for a 5 mile run today, but we both wimped out (it was cold and windy) and decided to meet for coffee at Starbucks instead. It’s nice to have another female to chat and laugh with.
Hoping – I am able to squeeze in a visit with my sister next week while we are in Maryland. I have quite a bit to do (wedding shower) and she’s moving to San Antonio next month so this may be the last opportunity we have to see each other for a while.
Wearing – My Lululemon Skinny Will pants…I think I wore them last week too…I just love them! Just got another (totally obsessed now) Lululemon order in this week. Why did it take so long for me to get in that store and try this stuff on.
Loving – That I get to see one of my oldest friends this upcoming weekend as I am co-hosting a wedding shower for her. We’ve known each other since we were 12 and years can go by that we see each other, but we can pick up as if no time has passed at all. I’m so excited to be the Matron of Honor in her wedding!
Needing – To do some Birthday shopping for my soon to be 5 year old. I’m not sure why, but I’ve never been a fan of characters (cartoon, movies, etc). Right now he’s pretty obsessed with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles so that looks like the gift if choice this year. How do I have a 5 year old already????? I just registered him for Kindergarten last week and it’s unreal how the time has flown by.
Happy Cinco De Mayo, friends!
